zombie-fied

last night we got brainwashed. but we got a free holiday!
we went to a timeshare seminar. weird. they told us that all we had to do was attend a 90 minute seminar and we would walk away with accomodation valued at $1200. cool. no obligation to buy anything. just sit through a seminar. cool.
so we got there and there was all these middle aged to old couples reading their timeshare folders with a cup of coffee. they told us to be there 15 minutes early to be in the $500 door prize too. cool. 500 bucks. then this guy came 0ut of this room and called out our names. just us. no one else. his name was brian and he had an extemely excited air about him and an even more excited but slightly nervous high pitched laugh. we almost did a runner. he led us to a table and we had to talk to him about our lives. he cracked weak jokes and tried to be our friend. then we had to go into a big room where all the other couples and their new found friends were. we had to watch a video about how easy it is to go on holidays and then listen to this other guy trying to crack jokes. he tried to get people to interact with him. tough crowd. everyone just wanted the free holiday.
anyway blah blah 2 hours later our friend brian told us that he didnt think timeshare was for us and where did we want go on our free holiday... so we were the first ones to leave. as we left a few couples were asked to stand up and shout 1, 2, 3.. alaska! as they had their photo taken. they must have signed up.

so we are gonna go to melbourne and stay in a fancy hotel - we have a year to use it. cool.
