out in the cold

clay pit

yesterday was crazy.
we took 35 kids to a clay pit up in the hills and watched them slosh around and fall over and lose their shoes and freeze! it was a very very cold day after a 2 degree night so the clay was even colder than the night and the day. kids are amazing though the loved it so much. and it felt so good that we thought up the idea to go there and let them be kids.
we then walked them back down the 500m track to where a bbq was waiting and also a huge family having a holiday outing. it must have looked pretty strange... all this kids covered from head to toe and by this stage so cold that they could hardly move... then they had to strip and get hosed down and towelled try and new clothes put on them.
sometimes i love my job.
